A Well Woman Network Receives Financial Award from Sport England
We are thrilled to announce that A Well Woman Network (AWW) has received a generous financial award from Sport England! This support is vital to our mission of improving the health and well-being of women in our community through physical activity and education.
As a nurse, I’ve seen firsthand the growing need for programs that support women, especially those undergoing pre-diabetic monitoring and other health challenges. Identifying this need, I applied for funding from Sport England to provide physical activity workshops that cater to the health concerns of women in our community. This award allows us to continue offering these essential programs.
Who is Sport England?
Sport England is a public body committed to helping people of all backgrounds and abilities get active. Their mission is to create a healthier, more active nation by funding and supporting organizations that promote physical activity and sports participation. Through their investments, they aim to tackle inequalities and ensure everyone, regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic background, has access to opportunities for improved health and well-being.
Sport England’s focus goes beyond competitive sports, recognizing the value of physical activity in everyday life. They invest in projects that encourage regular movement, improve mental health, and foster a sense of community. By supporting local initiatives, like A Well Woman Network, they empower organisations to make a tangible impact on health at a grassroots level.
Why A Well Woman Network?
Sport England’s decision to support A Well Woman Network aligns with its mission to reduce health inequalities and improve access to physical activity. Our workshops have focused on increasing awareness of the importance of staying active, particularly for women at risk of conditions such as pre-diabetes. Through engaging in physical activity programs and health education, AWW has provided essential services that help women in our community take control of their health and well-being.
The financial backing from Sport England allows us to expand these offerings, ensuring that more women benefit from physical activity tailored to their specific needs. This investment demonstrates Sport England’s commitment to fostering healthier communities and reducing barriers to participation.
Looking Ahead
We have already held several workshops where physical activity and engagement have played a key role in driving home the importance of staying active for our health. These interactions have been incredibly successful, and we are excited to build on this momentum.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sport England for their trust and support. Their investment in our community is making a real difference in the lives of many women. To those who have participated, contributed, or supported AWW, thank you. Your involvement has been invaluable.
Save The Date
Please save the date—October 19th—as we will be hosting a special event to show appreciation for the women who have benefited from the workshops, as well as everyone who has helped make this project a success.
Looking ahead, we are eager to continue these initiatives and bring even more impactful projects to our community. Thank you all for being part of this journey!
Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see you on the 19th of October!
