A Humbling Moment – Christy Amalu Receives the Community Champion Award

Christy Amalu recently had the honour of attending the Black History Month event organized by the Power of the Mind Network UK, where she was recognized as one of the recipients of the Community Champion Award. The event celebrated heroes of our time and highlighted the incredible contributions of individuals dedicated to uplifting their communities.

As Christy walked onto the stage to accept the award, presented by the Mayor of Wellingborough, she reflected on the journey that had brought her to this moment. Her work with A Well Woman (AWW) has been driven by a deep passion for community empowerment and an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact. As she acknowledged, this award was not just hers but belonged to everyone who had supported and contributed to AWW’s mission. Every volunteer, team member, and partner played a crucial role in the organisation’s success.

Receiving this recognition, Christy expressed her gratitude to those who have been by her side throughout the years. She gave. thanks to her family, particularly her husband, who has always encouraged her to pursue her passions. Her children have also been a constant source of strength and love. Christy also extended her heartfelt appreciation to her Royal father, Prince Bel, whose belief in her is a powerful motivator.

Christy is incredibly thankful to Sister Mavis and her team for organizing the event, and to everyone who has supported her. Their collective faith in AWW and in the power of community transformation has made these achievements possible.
